Recognition from Persimmon Tree

We are very excited to be able to share the following information and recognition of Mercedes’ (aka Chea) art by Persimmon Tree, “an online publication dedicated to showcasing the creativity and talent of women over sixty … as a platform for older women to share their unique perspective and experiences with a wider audience” (as per Google/Gemini).

Dear Mercedes,

I’m so pleased to be including your art work in the Spring 2024 issue of Persimmon Tree, which will be going live tomorrow.

I chose your work to illustrate our poetry feature, which this issue features poetry by women from the central United States. I hope you will find, as I did, that your work and the poetry speak to each other. We try to make matches that are interesting and complementary, and that send their own messages to readers, without being obvious.

When the issue comes out, do share it with everyone you know. We want your family and friends and colleagues to know that you are published here. And we want them to make the happy discovery of Persimmon Tree, too.

Again, our thanks and congratulations.

Jean Zorn

To access the art, go to “Persimmontree.org”, scroll down and click on the Poetry section and you will find several pieces by Chea interspersed with the poetry. You can also access a more complete collection of Mercedes’ work at CheasArt.com.

Enjoy the poetry and art and other exciting resources of Persimmon Tree, and all the best to our friends and family during this holiday season. Please feel free to share with other potentially interested parties.
